The Candidate must have;
- An appropriate business tertiary qualification (B-Commerce/MBA); and
- Proven (at least 8 years) relevant professional and technical knowledge of and experience, of which at least 5 years in general management, in a financial services insurance environment;
- Leadership and business management exposure at Managing Director or Senior Management level;
- Experience in African markets – culturally attuned to the diverse markets with particular emphasis on the Kenyan market

Relationship Manager (RM) - Nigeria

CA Global Africa recruitment is currently looking for Relationship Manager for one of its clients to be based Nigeria.

The Relationship Manager (“RM”) is the key client contact point for China / Africa Corporate and Institutional clients within his/her coverage area. The RM is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the relationship with the customer at local level (including revenue generation, service provision, compliance and risk management) under the clients global client relationship structure.

Role background;
- The China/Africa Desk is a sub-set of the Global Subsidiaries Group (“GSG”) business in Africa, and reports directly to the Head of China/Africa Desks, with a matrix reporting line into the Corporate / GSG Heads in each country where there is a Desk.
- The team comprises RMs and Relationship Associates (“RAs”) who support the RMs and are RMs in training.
- The China/Africa portfolio comprises subsidiaries of the clients China clients operating in Africa.
- The China/Africa Desk RMs will also be involved in providing expertise to local corporate names wishing to explore outward business opportunities from Africa into China.

The Candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
Business Results: revenue targets dependent on portfolio.
Customer Effectiveness : major share of customer wallet; multi-product penetration; strong Customer Satisfaction rating (Voice of the Client); strong customer relationships resulting in invitation to participate in all relevant deals.
Personal, Business & Technical Proficiency: service and customer oriented; knowledge of broad range of Corporate banking products; knowledge of key China / Africa business, regulatory and compliance environments.
Execution Skills : implementation and execution of complex solutions; ability to coordinate and put together deal teams; anticipates customer needs; anticipates and executes credit requirements with an ability to initiate, motivate and manage credit exposure; results driven; effectively manage bank services delivery to customers.
Leadership: alignment of bank resources for results; cross-functional leadership; potential understudy of Head China/Africa Desks.
Professional Standards : continuous benchmarking of user market; solid track record; ability to anticipate customer market needs; credibility with coverage, product, credit & support organizations.
Relationships – Internal & External: access to customers on all levels; ability to determine and gain access to emerging leaders and key decision-makers of customer organization.
Global Effectiveness: understanding and effectively managing the client global capacities and complexities; sound credit management; regulatory & compliance.

URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A HEAD OF GROUP LEGAL & COMPLIANCE - FINANCIAL INSTITUTION SOUTH AFRICA

CA Global, Africa Recruitment is currently looking for a Head of Group Legal & Compliance for a Financial Investment institution in South Africa.

Role Summary:
Responsible for leading the group’s legal and compliance deliverables across the various businesses and countries so as to ensure appropriate management of legal risk.

Key performance Indicators:
-Manage all corporate litigation and legal risk across all our businesses;
-Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and all legal documents;
-Provide legal advisory services to the various business units (asset management, private equity, securities trading, corporate finance, micro-lending and group support functions);
-Provide strategic corporate counsel and efficient resolution of all legal issues;
-Achieve corporate goals through the ongoing selection, performance management and development of the team;
-Participate in strategic planning as a member of the senior management team;
-Monitor compliance and licensing and company secretarial requirements of the Group;
-Foster a success orientated environment within the Group.

The successful Candidate must have;
- The company will only look at candidates who have no less than 15 years working experience.
- No less than 5 years should have been spent in a similar role or a similar organization.
- A good command of English, both written and verbal, preference will be given to candidates who can speak Portuguese or French.
- It is imperative that a successful applicant to this position has good written communication abilities.
- Comprehensive familiarity and knowledge of the legal and business requirements of an investment bank or financial institution;
- Substantial experience in commercial and contract law. This experience would have been gained in-house within a financial services institution and/or private practice with a top law firm;
- Experience in advising on legal implications of various transactions as in corporate finance deals and mergers and acquisitions;
- Skills in managing corporate litigation;
- Extensive experience in managing a legal team;
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements of an investment bank operating in Africa would be a strong preference;
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong legal drafting skills;
- Ability to think outside the box and able to demonstrate commercial application of legal knowledge;
- Strong personality;
- Proven leadership and management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to manage and motivate a high performing team.
