Responsibilities:
• Oversee the timely implementation of the Bank’s Staff Performance Management Cycle. This will include ensuring that staff submit their individual objectives on time, alongside their reviews for the period;
• Make proposals on required improvements to the performance appraisal system and assist in ensuring that the performance management process is well understood and implemented across the Bank;
• Conducting the annual training and development needs analysis and developing required training plans accordingly as well as prioritise such training activity based on business needs while promoting on the job development activities/programs;
• Plan for and implement the development of the Bank’s Learning and Talent Development activities/plan and align them to the Bank’s business needs, using all available channels of learning, but with a focus on introducing e-learning initiatives;
• Facilitate and coordinate all internal and external learning activities, including the Bank’s monthly knowledge sharing sessions;
• Manages pre and post learning event activities in order to maximize application of skills and improved performance;
• Lead the development of customized leadership and management development programs and support their implementation in conjunction with selected institutions of learning;
• Provide required professional leads for the development of a talent management and development framework for the Bank, with a competency framework and succession plan that captures the Bank’s talent needs and requirements, while aligned to global best practice and external industry benchmarks;
• Regularly reviews L&D policies, procedures and practices and recommend improvements to management;
• Support supervisors to identify learning and development needs of their team members and work closely with them to establish training priorities as aligned to business needs;
• Manage all special learning & development assignments including Internships, the Junior Professional Programme, Secondments etc.., while keeping track of such alumni for talent pipeline management purposes;
• Coordinating the orientation and induction programs for new staff;
• Assisting the Head of HR in other HR related tasks including but not limited to recruitment, reward & benefits management, staff welfare, discipline and grievance management etc.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by senior management
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
• A relevant first degree and a post graduate degree in HR Management, Organisational Psychology or related qualification from a recognized University. A recognized professional qualification in HR or related field will be an added advantage;
• Sound experience of at least 8 years within the financial services industry and demonstrable experience in HR management, especially performance management, learning and development, talent and career management, succession planning, and considerable knowledge of how these work;
• Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting and therefore practical knowledge of the implementation of performance management solutions in the African context;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Bank's other working languages is an added advantage (French, Arabic and Portuguese).
• Proven experience in providing strategic advice on required HR issues and leading the implementation of such HR related projects once approved by Management. The candidate must demonstrate experience and knowledge of designing L&D products and the ability to influence senior management levels;
• Willingness to travel extensively and to work long hours where required in order to achieve the Bank's objectives;
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to organize and manage human resources to attain goals;
• An impeccable record of integrity, confidentiality and discretion in dealing with all staff related matters; and
• Proven experience of using HR Information Systems, preferably in an SAP environment.
