Senior Investment Officer: Zimbabwe My client is a leading African Bank with years of success within the African Markets; they are looking to expand their Zimbabwean operations and needs a Senior Investment Officer to grow into a Chief Investment Officer. Minimum Requirements: • Fluent in English. • 10 Years Investment Banking Experience. • Minimum 10 years’ experience Structuring and closing Investment Deals. • Qualified Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe / South Africa) • Must be well connected. • Previous Investment Experience within the Mining, Agriculture and Tourism Experience. Job Purpose: • Evaluate all resources ventures presented to the company and search for Investment opportunities on behalf of the Bank: • Geological evaluations; • Mining evaluations; • Funding options; and • Projected risk • Motivate each opportunity presented to partners for: • further investigation; • investment; or • discarding • Develop compelling business cases to support the raising of funds for each opportunity • Manage and execute further investigation into feasibility of each venture • Develop, implement and monitor the strategy for further exploration opportunities for the Resources in the sector. • Conduct business development activities to identify and secure suitable opportunities within the mining industry. • Ensure adequate financial and human resources are in place to execute the Resources involvement in each opportunity. • Relationship management • Build and maintain strategic alliances with mining houses, mining technical professional firms, financing institutions, Department of Mineral Resources etc. • Project management • Manage the execution of each stage in the mining value chain. • Ensure project timelines are delivered on at shortest time possible • Process Optimization • Ensure on-going process re-engineering to ensure optimum service delivery, quicker turn-around times • Risk and Financial Management • On-going reporting to stakeholders • Exercising budgeting and control of expenses • Identify, quantify and report on project’s risk position • Implementing the business plan and strategy for investing in Mining operations within Zimbabwe and Sub-Saharan Africa. • Lead transactions for the Bank from identification, negotiations, closing, monitoring investments and finally the exit thereof (the incumbent takes final responsibility for the transaction even though assisted by other staff members). • Lead a team within the Investment Banking arm to Structure the Investment Deals. • Closing of Deals. • Represent the company and its clients as presented to Investment Committee on boards of portfolio companies. • Implement corporate governance disciplines in investee companies. • Managing Risk parameters for all deals. • Initiate investments in chosen areas of investment preference. • Management of resources both internally and externally. • Marketing the investment solutions and build sound relationships with clients and role players • Manage and add value to the investment portfolio. • Effectively managing human resources by recruiting competent staff, training staff, investing in and retaining staff so that they, in turn, can continuously find good entrepreneurial businesses to invest in and add value to.
