Fixed Income Manager (strategic thinker, business development, African bonds), Johannesburg, South Africa Introduction The main purpose of the role will be to structure, grow and develop the foreign, regional (cross border) and local fixed business and grow fixed income trading commission revenue of the Group across Africa. Responsibilities • Help develop a strategy for the fixed income business across Africa. • Implement the necessary structures to align with the approved fixed income strategy. • Identify and engage with prospective clients to grow fixed income client base. • Manage and grow foreign, regional and local deal flow. • Communicate fixed income trading ideas to clients. • Grow fixed income trading market share. • Maintain client database of current and prospective clients, including information about organisational structures, holdings, fund mandates and sizes. • Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients. Requirements • Relevant tertiary qualification • South African citizen preferred • It is essential that candidates have a proven ability in fixed income trading with an already established client distribution network (in Africa preferred) • The candidate will be someone who can develop and grow a fixed income trading business. As such the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker. • Experience in dealing with African bonds would be advantageous but not essential. • The successful candidate would have an understanding of fixed income instruments. • It is essential that this person is a strong business developer as he/she will be responsible for growing the business. • 10 years of experience required • A good command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the role.
