My client is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team in its SE Africa regional office in Maputo, Mozambique.
Established in 2009, the firm is a not-for-profit agricultural development and fund management company operating in sub-Saharan Africa. It offers a way of leveraging large amounts of private capital into socially-responsible farming and agri-processing businesses in Africa, with major benefits for smallholder farmers and local communities. The company has recently established their first African office in Maputo, Mozambique and are expected to expand to Tanzania and Ghana over the next two years.
Responsibilities
The Employee will work as a Financial Analyst undertaking financial analysis and modelling, preparing investment proposals and supporting the on-going development of the firm’s projects, mainly in Mozambique:
• Conducting financial analysis of both existing and potential investment opportunities, calculating and utilising key metrics such as IRR and EBITDA;
• Preparing, developing and maintaining pro-forma financial models for projects in development and performing analysis of project economics with such models;
• Undertaking preparatory work in support of evaluation, due diligence and approval processes by multilateral organisations, development finance institutions, commercial banks and other debt and equity investors; in connection with the financing of projects
• Preparing investment proposals for diverse audiences; both commercial and developmental, highlighting the areas of greatest interest to particular investors
• Working with the project development team, establishing budgets and conducting project feasibility studies to support the identification of early-stage agriculture projects in which the company may choose to invest
• Preparing and maintaining project development budgets and interfacing with the finance team to ensure timely cost and expense reporting of projects;
• Supporting the project development team in the overall project development process; activities may include:
o Managing and co-ordinating the overall development process until financial close, in an efficient manner, minimizing overall development costs and time schedules
o Establishing key project deliverables, reporting mechanisms and timelines. Managing progress in accordance with specific project deliverables

Reporting

• At least 3-5 years’ experience in financial analysis in a similar finance/ project development / venture capital business

Division Manager, Administrative Expenses (Expenditure Controller) – Tunis, Tunisia
Introduction
The incumbent a critical part of the management and control of administrative and capital expenditures of the Bank Group, is primarily responsible for the delivery of timely and efficient payment processing services. Such responsibility also includes the exercise of effective controls over administrative and capital expenditure payment requests to not only safeguard the assets of the Bank, but also contribute to the efficient implementation of the administrative and capital budgets of the Bank Group and of various multilateral and bilateral grants
Responsibilities
• Supervise staff of the Division to ensure that payments are made promptly and accurately

• Coordinate External auditors’ work on administrative expenses.
Requirements
• Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Audit or Business Administration, and an internationally recognized professionally accounting qualification e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA or Expert Comptable.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience including an international financial organization and covering provision of services to customers and business process innovation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English or French with a good working knowledge of the other language
• Proficiency in the use of SAP and other standard software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (certification in the FI module of SAP will be an advantage)
• Strong managerial skills including ability to coordinate the work of the Division and motivate team members.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) –Director, Corporate/Investment Banking, Nigeria, Kenya and Namibia
CA Global Africa recruitment is currently looking for very accomplished and highly qualified candidates for the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for one of its large Multinational Banking clients in Africa.
PLEASE NOTE: You need to be a resident/national of the above mentioned countries and/or a Diaspora candidate to qualify.
General Overview:
- Play the lead role in and manage the setting and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls that are consistent with world best practice and the rest of the Group.
- Design, manage and maintain a seamless integrated financial reporting system. This includes initiating the redesign of the chart of accounts and accounting transaction framework and implementation of reporting systems to provide and communicate quality financial information.
- Managing the taxation affairs of the country
- Provision of technical advice and accounting support to all business units
- Assist in the overall risk management of the bank
- To support and develop the in country finance teams in creating a finance partnership with business
- Ensure maintenance of and adherence to Group / country accounting policies and procedures.
- Liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, central bank, revenue authority, Finance and Group Finance
- Be a member of and contribute to a number of subsidiary company boards and, the Executive Committee
- Provide leadership, coaching, staff development and supervision within the finance function
Role Responsibilities
- To define and implement financial strategy, management and policy and reporting frameworks for the Bank in order to maximize shareholder value and ensure investments are secure and compliant with IFRS requirement.
- Set finance strategy in line with corporate objectives
- Advises on fiscal control, profitability and returns
- Prepares, presents and interprets financial reports to Executive Committee, the Board and other regulatory bodies
- Ensure financial controls and disciplines are in place
- Ensure the overall integrity and accuracy of the financial transactional system as a basis for the preparation of financial and management reporting and accurately reflects the countries’ financial position
- Ensure adherence and compliance to tax laws, regulatory requirements and financial / accounting policies and procedures.
- Optimise capital usage – capital management
- Member of and contribute to a number of subsidiary company boards and, Executive Committees
- Formulate, align and lead the Finance vision and goals within the context of those set by the country and Africa Group.
- Setting the strategic framework for developing a value added finance function that provides customer focused finance solutions to business problems
- Effective management of capital to ensure optimum use
- Managing the maximisation of profit and return on capital so as to exceed shareholder expectations
- Facilitating strategic planning through preparation of financial forecasts based on the country business strategy
- Overall management, co-ordination and preparation of the annual budget and periodic revised estimates
- Written and oral reporting of strategic, operational and financial issues to Executive Committees and Board of Directors to enable them to meaningfully direct the country operation
- Ensuring that all internal and external reporting requirements are timeously met, including -preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts, Group Accounts and Statutory Annual Financial Statements

- Willingness to lead from a high level but get involved in detail when necessary
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Strong report writing skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Manage the financial function in a decentralised environment
- Encounter a number of varied and different people that adds complexity around cultures, regulatory, tax and accounting environments
The Candidate must have;
- Professional Accounting qualification
- At least 20+ year’s of financial management experience in a banking environment or large and dynamic multi-national at senior/executive management level.
- In-depth understanding of strategic banking issues.
- Expert knowledge in strategic and operational/budgeting planning processes.
- Proven financial leadership
- Strategic planning and management experience
- Capital management in a financial institution
- Effectively lead and supervise a large team
- Experience in change management and has the ability to positively lead change
- Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Good understanding of Taxation Legislation
- An understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements
- Computer literacy and knowledge of personal computers and software packages such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access.
- Good communication and presentation skills at Executive level
- Experience in change management and has the ability to positively lead change
