Overview:
The client is a fast growing organization whom overseeing microfinance banks and institutions in fifteen countries of Central and South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The client currently employs over 3,500 people throughout these various entities.

Their mandate is poverty alleviation and the reduction of economic and social exclusion. Their goal is to establish sustainable institutions that extend a broad range of innovative financial services to underserved populations. The CEO is responsible for the bank or institution’s development and day-to-day general management, under the authority of the Board of Directors; and the relations with governments and supervisory authorities.

Role overview:

1. Management of the entity as an effective microfinance institution/bank focused on poverty alleviation and provision of financial services and products

2. Development of sustainable institution with a well balanced portfolio; broad geographical and product outreach and maximum impact.

3. Capacity building of a core group of local professionals, capable of staffing all managerial positions in the medium term without recourse to expatriate management or technical assistance.

4. Linking with other partners and donors to leverage existing institution’s investment in the institution. In particular preparing, submitting and procuring donor funding for expansion of activities.

Duties and responsibilities but not limited to;

- Holding overall responsibility for the performance of the institution, as per the business plan and benchmarks agreed with the institution. The Candidate must have;

- A degree from a leading university, preferably with a finance or business focus.

Programmer Analyst (SAP HCM Configurator/Abap Developer) – Bank in Africa

The incumbent would work closely under the supervision of a team lead in the configuration or development of SAP HCM module needs of the Bank’s key users. Specifically, under the supervision of a Project leader, he would be required to:

3. Perform configuration changes to accommodate change requests and conduct prototyping activities. Work with the other SAP experts in resolving software bugs. Perform initial testing of problem fixes, change requests, enhancement assessments and make recommendations to CIMM management.

4. Demonstrate proof of concepts to users. Conduct user sessions to address problems, issues and resolve them. Train users as at when the need arises on designated SAP Module.

5. Work with the CIMM Help Desk in problem resolution and user support.

6. Participate in release upgrade or new functionality/enhancement assessments. Keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform application research.

7. Interact with contract personnel to produce requirements and system documentation for software projects. Serve as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for assigned contract support services tasks.

The Candidate must have;

· At least a Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree in Engineering
· At least four years of relevant experience, two of which are in SAP HCM module practice
· Working knowledge of any other SAP module or certification on the HCM module would be an advantage
· Working experience in a similar financial multilateral institution would be an advantage
· Strong interpersonal skills;
· Bilingual preferably, or ability to communicate effectively in English or French with a working knowledge of other

Head of Wholesale & Retail Banking – Retail Bank, Uganda

CA Global Africa recruitment is currently looking for a Head of Wholesale & Retail Banking for one of its clients in Uganda.

The focus is driving the growth strategy and business development opportunities in the wholesale segment and to further strengthen the Bank's ability to deliver value to clients as well as to formulate and facilitate the implementation of strategies which contribute to the Bank’s market share, profitability and related objectives in the Retail Banking Sector.

The Candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
-Managing the divisions on an every day basis
-Identify and execute strategic opportunities for growth in the Wholesale segment
-Growing the book through marketing efforts from both existing and new clients in line with the Bank’s targets.
-Lead the formulation of detailed SBU plans to achieve the Bank’s strategic objectives in the Retail Banking Sector
-Ensure leading-edge products/services are developed proactively and deployed speedily and profitably, to meet the identified needs of target customer segments
-Oversee the preparation of the Sector’s annual budget and monitor the implementation to minimize overruns
-Ensuring that customer service standards were designed to enable the department to retain existing clients and attract new ones.
-Liaising with the Managing Director to effectively communicate with the departmental members and giving feedback on all issues to do with the division.
-Coordinating weekly and month end reports for the attention of the Managing Director, EXCO and the Board members of the Bank.

The Candidate must have;
- A relevant degree (a Masters degree is preferred)
- At least 10 years experience within the banking sector (both Wholesale banking and Retail banking) with a minimum of 4 years in a Management role.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Proven leadership skills

Preference will be given to a Ugandan National.

Head of Business Development (CD) - Financial, Sub-Sahara / Broader Africa

Major Accountabilities:

This individual is the 'Go To' person for Commerce development across Sub Sahara / Broader Africa, ensuring alignment between individual markets 'go-to-market' approaches and the overall Sub Sahara / Broader Africa and APMEA Commerce Development strategy, taking into account the region's longer term strategic initiatives.

Establish new partner / vendor/ enabler / joint venture integration with capabilities to sustain the client’s competitive advantage and tracking performance against key objectives. This individual will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with both acquirers and merchants across Sub Sahara / Broader Africa.

Fundamental to accelerating the development of the client’s Sub Sahara / Broader Africa business, is a backbone of strong acceptance in partnership with key Acquirers and National retailers. The individual will be responsible for developing a dedicated Acquire/Retailer plan, along the lines of the current “issuer” business development model, however focused exclusively on Acceptance Development across Sub Sahara / Broader Africa

In-depth understanding of the clients P&L and how to maximize revenue through an effective acceptance strategy.

The individual will support in the development of Sub Sahara / Broader Africa Interchange strategies, in collaboration with all regional and local cross functional teams. A successful candidate will be required to support in the Sub Sahara / Broader Africa Regulatory dialogue and support Country Management, on all matters relating to National and Regional interests.

General Manager (GM) Microfinance - Swaziland

CA Global Africa recruitment is currently looking for General Manager (GM) for one of its clients in Swaziland.

The main purpose of the role is the overall responsibility for the running of the Swaziland operations in the capacity of acting Country Manager, including to establish a bank within the existing Swaziland group and to research, formulate and implement “housing linked” products and credit operations. To establish a new business venture in Mozambique and to develop the business to predefined and agreed targets as determined from time to time, including:
1. Source and propose appropriate local partners and shareholders who will support the distribution, collection and funding initiatives of the business.
2. On the basis that (1) and (2) above are to be achieved source and fit out appropriate retail premises.

The Candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
-To assist with necessary preparation of documentation pertaining to local submissions to regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
-Establishment of business presence, including all logistical set-up requirements in country.
-Facilitate origination of local country funding.
-Identify and analyze new trends in microfinance / consumer lending.
-Design, implement and sell new products (lending, insurance, savings, etc.) and product opportunities.
-Market intelligence (analyzing and reporting on operating environments).
-Develop and update marketing material for portfolio.
-Implementation of marketing strategies for portfolio.
-Interact and maintain key client relationships across portfolio.
-Create, implement and maintain the Group image.
-Improving levels of service to staff and customers and enhancing internal operational efficiencies.
-Train, manage and motivate subordinate staff in the personal loan business of the Company, its associates and specific country responsibility.
-The strategizing, structuring, promotion and administration relating to assigned business responsibility whilst growing the loan books of the Company, its associates or clients, as applicable.
-The coordination, scheduling and documentation relating to regular and proper executive committee, credit committee and board meetings of the Company, its associates and, where applicable, its clients on at least a quarterly basis.
-Liaison with service providers such as but not limited to stockbrokers, analysts, bankers, economists and auditors.
-To comply with Company policies, regulations and rules.
-Suitable and adequate documentation of all work performed.

The Candidate must have;
-B.A or BCom degree, (an honors or masters will be an added advantage)
-Membership with professional institutes relating to his/hers qualification;
-A minimum of 10 years of experience
-No less than 3 years should have been spent in a similar role or a similar organization
-Strong grounding on Financial Services is preferred;
-A good command of English and Swazi, both written and verbal
-Ability to travel
